Charitable Seed Fund
2016 marks the 16th year of charity sponsorship, now named The Charitable Seed Fund, as part of the Rains County Founders Day Festival.
In the past we've divided our sponsorship funds amongst a variety of local charities. In 2016, we are focusing on a new project that will benefit the entire community. Texas Parks and Wildlife awarded the City of Emory a grant to begin work on a new city park. We have used those grant funds to begin the first phase, which includes clearing of the land and the addition of walking trails. Our second phase, is not currently funded. The second phase is for the community. We'd like to add first, an amphitheater. Then, as we build more funds from events and special fundraisers we'd like to continue to add to the park by developing a splash pad, playground, concession area and more. This park will be a safe place for families to gather, play and enjoy events and entertainment. The 13-acre tract of park land will be able to accommodate needs from all over the county, from family gatherings to civic events. Our sponsorship funds this year and funds raised from the Founders Day Concert will be donated to the "I Heart Park Project."
